UFC Fight Night Alistair Overeem vs Walt Harris: Latest MMA Odds and UFC Predictions

Following Dana White’s successful execution of UFC 249, both White and the UFC will be exercising a state of euphoria this week with another two blockbuster fight nights in the making. Alistair Overeem looks to lock horns with Walt Harris in Fight Night’s main event this Saturday at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, and the duo will look ahead to replicate UFC 249’s astonishing card.

Saturday night signaled the return of live sports after nearly two months of darkness. To say the card delivered would be an understatement with some mouth-watering fights, ground-breaking knockouts, and Justin Gaethje’s dismantling of hotly-tipped favorite Tony Ferguson. The UFC has ushered in a new look for sports, too. One without fans and amid several safety precautions. Bet Today USA explores all the UFC predictions, questions and exciting matchups below.

Main Event: Alistair Overeem Vs. Walt Harris

Now that the UFC cards have all fallen neatly back into place, a schedule and sense of normalcy have been restored. The big question now remains on who can gain a foothold in the heavyweight division and Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris will be battling it out for that very accolade.

Overeem and Harris will be primed and ready to do battle for the third show since the recent UFC blackout. The two heavyweight hitters were originally scheduled to lock horns back in April 11 in Portland but the show got canceled due to the epidemic. Dutchman Overeem will be looking to bounce back from a loss to Jairzinho Rozenstruik last December after Rozenstruik punched his way to a TKO victory capping off an incredible UFC year. The 39-year-old will be laying his career on the line as the Dutch fighter is doing everything in his power to avoid falling out of the heavyweight pecking order.

Our prediction

Harris to win via TKO

Despite being 36 years of age, Harris is seen as an upcoming prospect in the heavyweight division and has showcased a fine run in form to cement his place. The Alabama native is riding a wave of momentum, boasting three stoppage victories from his last four UFC wins. ‘The Big Ticket’ possesses an impressive back-to-back first-round KO wins via strikes, proving the heavyweight unit is a dangerous threat flying out if the blocks. With Overeem having been stopped late in his last performance, the signs point towards a fifth win on the bounce for the rampantly rising Harris. Co-Main Event: Claudia Gadelha Vs. Angela Hill

Claudia Gadelha is preparing to ply her trade against fellow strawweight contender Angela Hill in the highly anticipated Co-main event. Gadelha (17-4-0) has rotated wins and losses in her last five UFC bouts, with the latest contest being a unanimous decision win over Randa Markos. The Brazilian had previously gone head to head with Joanna Jedrzejczyk for the UFC Women’s Strawweight Title but ultimately lost via unanimous decision.

Our prediction

Hill to win via knockout

Angela Hill (12-7-0) enters this showdown riding a three-fight winning streak, brushing aside Ariane Carnelossi, Hannah Cifers and Loma Lookboonmee. The American’s 2020 fight schedule has been filled to the brim, competing for the fourth time this year with still half the calendar year left. Hill hasn’t suffered a loss since Xiaonan Yan won via decision in June 2019. Hill has seen an evolution to her striking game of late and we predict that Hill is too much for the Brazilian to handle. Hill to win via knockout.

Dan Ige vs Edson Barboza

This fight marks Barboza’s first fight after suffering an uncharacteristically rough period when he was competing at lightweight, which he lost four out of his last five. Arguably the fights were against some of the division’s elite in Nurmagomdedov, Lee, Gaethje and Felder. Barboza will fire up the reset button at 145lbs and try and strike his way through an in-form Dan Ige.

Our prediction

Ige to win via decision

Dan Ige has been chasing a high-profile fight for quite some time and found one in the form of Barboza. The Honolulu native is riding a five-fight winning streak and is showcasing some terrific form. Ige has form on his side but Barboza is somewhat of a journeyman and will utilize his experience over the American featherweight. Barboza might have a division of experience under his belt but Ige has the wins next to his name.

Eryk Anders vs Krzysztof Jotko

A middleweight matchup between Anders and Jotko has been slammed back on to the UFC table. The two 185-pounders were due to meet at UFC Portland on April 11 but the event was inevitably postponed. Anders suffered a three-fight losing streak but returned back to the win column with back-to-back wins to polish off 2019 nicely.

Our prediction

Jotko to win via decision

Jotko has been able to string together back-to-back wins in his own right and will enter VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena with a torrent of confidence. The 30-year-old made east work of Alen Amedovski, winning via unanimous decision. The Polish fighter then picked up another win, a split decision over Barriault. Considering Jotko’s recent run of form and the tools he has in his locker, our prediction is a win for Jotko via decision.

Song Yadong Vs. Marlon Vera

Yadong and Vera are on course to clash in the exciting bantamweight brawl and both fighters boast an impressive run of victories. Vera is riding a five-fight winning streak entering this bout and will be gunning to make it six. While Yadong is unbeaten in eight. Vera finally earned his stripes and was gifted his first ranked fight since John Lineker in 2017. Yadong’s last battle with Cody Stamina ended in a draw and the Chinese fighter is looking to get another win on his fight card.

Our prediction

Yadong to win via unanimous decision
