Draft Kings Sportsbook

DraftKings has emerged as one of the market leaders in the nascent US sports betting market after mounting an aggressive customer acquisition drive. The brand was already famous across the country thanks to its popular daily fantasy sports product, which featured in several high-profile marketing campaigns. It quickly pivoted to sports betting after the US Supreme Court struck down the federal ban, PASPA, in 2018.

The team at DraftKings wasted no time in signing a deal with white-label sportsbook provider Kambi. It became the first online sportsbook to go live in New Jersey, and it quickly started expanding into other states. DraftKings Sportsbook now vies with FanDuel and a couple of other leading lights in a bid for supremacy across the USA.

In April 2020, DraftKings became a publicly traded company through a three-way merger with white-label provider SBTech and special purpose acquisition company Diamond Eagle. The company was valued at $3.3 billion as it made its debut on the NASDAQ, and its market cap had soared past the $25 billion mark by 2021.

The merger handed Boston-based DraftKings a large cash balance, and it used this war chest to embark upon an ambitious new customer acquisition program. DraftKing commercials have become commonplace during sporting events, and it has also launched many appealing bonuses and promotions in a bid to carve out a share of the rapidly expanding US sports betting market. It is licensed and operational in several states, and it has established itself as one of the country’s most popular online sportsbooks.

DraftKings Sportsbook Promo Code & Bonus Offering

DraftKings offers new customers a 20% matched first deposit bonus worth up to $1,000 in site credit in a bid to attract new customers.

To see how this works in detail, here’s what you need to know.

  • Deposit $5,000 in order to be eligible to receive $1,000, the maximum bonus amount.
  • You have 90 days from your initial deposit to earn any bonus funds.
  • There is a playthrough requirement: for every $25 played on DK, you will receive $1 into your player accounts. This means that with a deposit of $5,000, users will need to play a cumulative total of $25,000 in DK’s sportsbook, casino or fantasy contests in order to earn the maximum $1,000 bonus.
  • Wagers for the playthrough requirement must be placed at minimum odds of -300 in order to count towards the rollover playthrough requirement.
  • This promotion ends on 2/27/2022.

DraftKings have a varied collection of daily and weekly fantasy promotions, including $50 free bets to new customers, so it is worth checking for any specific sign-up offers when you decide to register. Just make sure you read the bonus terms carefully to check for any requirements.

DraftKings Loyalty Program

DraftKings players rack up loyalty points, known as crowns, by simply logging in and placing and wagers. The number of crowns you earn on a monthly basis determines the loyalty tier you will fall into. It starts with bronze (100 crowns per month), and then goes up to silver, gold, platinum, diamond and black (125,000 crowns per month).

You can use these crowns to enter contests and buy merchandise in the DK shop. You will often earn DK Dollars, which can be used in contests, but any payouts you earn in cash contests will be paid out in real cash. Recent contests included a $1 million Masters golf competition.

DraftKings also gives out free bets to existing customers from time to time. For example, it gave away more than $10 million on the opening day of the 2020 NFL season in what was widely described as the single biggest promotion in American sportsbook history. You will occasionally find huge odds boosts on big events like March Madness too, so DraftKings finds plenty of ways to reward existing customers for their loyalty.

Which states is DraftKings legal in?

DraftKings has gone live in 12 different states: New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Iowa, New Hampshire, Illinois, West Virginia, Tennessee, Colorado, Virginia, Oregon and Michigan. It also offers land-based sports betting in New York and Mississippi. Its online sports betting product covers more than a quarter of the US population. Its DFS product is available in eight countries, and it is the official daily fantasy partner of the NFL, MLB, NASCAR and the PGA Tour.

DraftKings Sportsbook NJ

DraftKings was the first online sportsbook to go live in New Jersey after PASPA was struck down in 2018. By August 1 that year, the DraftKings Sportsbook app was up and running in the Garden State. It partnered with Atlantic City’s Resorts Casino Hotel, owned by Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, taking one of three available skins on Resorts’ sports betting license.

DraftKings Sportsbook spent several months as the market leader in New Jersey, but it was eventually knocked into second place by FanDuel. Many more ambitious rivals have now gone live in the Garden State, including William Hill, Bet365, BetMGM, Unibet and 888 Sport, but DraftKings remains the second most popular online sportsbook in the state, and it has been seizing market share from its rivals in recent months, so it could regain top spot before long.

DraftKings Sportsbook PA

DraftKings Sportsbook became the sixth online sports betting site to go live in Pennsylvania when it launched in November 2019. FanDuel was already up and running in the Keystone State by that point, along with several local operators, but DraftKings Sportsbook quickly became the second most popular sports wagering site in PA.

It has an affiliate partnership with Penn National Gaming’s Hollywood Casino, which allows it to offer online wagering in Pennsylvania. In July 2020, it boosted its presence in the state by launching its standalone casino app. Four months later, it signed a multi-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles to become the team's official sports betting and DFS partner. The deal includes naming rights to the field club at the Eagles’ stadium.

DraftKings Sportsbook Indiana

DraftKings rolled out its popular online sportsbook and mobile app in Indiana in October 2019. “DraftKings could not be more thrilled to expand our national reach as states continue to open the market for legalized sports betting,” said co-founder and chief revenue officer Matt Kalish at the time.

DraftKings has actually emerged as the market leader in Indiana, ahead of FanDuel, BetMGM and other rivals. It has a sponsorship deal in place with the Indiana Pacers, along with the Philadelphia 76ers, Boston Celtics and several other NBA teams, which may have helped it hold onto a dominant position in the Hoosier State.

DraftKings Sportsbook App

The DraftKings Sportsbook app has garnered very strong reviews from sports bettors. It has an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 on the Google Play Store after receiving more than 80,000 votes, with customers praising the user-friendly design, the wide range of player props and the live streaming. Some bettors have complained about technical issues and slow customer service, but overall the feedback is very positive

We put the app to the test for this DraftKings Sportsbook review and found that it worked very well on a broad range of Apple and Android devices. The graphics are sharp, the text is clear and the design is attractive.

Navigation is simple: you can place bets on big games with just a few taps of the screen, and we were also able to navigate to niche sporting events pretty quickly. DraftKings Sportsbook offers a huge range of prop bets on big games, but the choice never feels overwhelming due to the quality of the design and the helpful shortcuts. It is easy to see why this app is so popular.

DraftKings Sportsbook Betting Options

DraftKings covers a broad range of sports in excellent depth. The homepage provides quick links to the most popular sports leagues and tournaments taking place at the time. You will generally find NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NCAAF and NCAAB there, provided they are in season, along with events like the Masters, the US Open and the Champions League.

It also lists an A-Z of the sports covered below that, from Australian Rules football to volleyball. You will find slightly more niche sports such as cricket, cycling, rugby, darts and handball alongside MMA, boxing, tennis, golf and soccer. Its coverage of each sport is pretty deep. For example, you can bet on hockey games taking place in Finland, basketball in Brazil and volleyball in Turkey.

DraftKings really excels when it comes to the number of game lines, game props and player props available on NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL games. You will find a huge range of alternate spreads and total points markets. Player props on basketball include player points, 3-pointers, rebounds, assists and double-doubles. Hockey player props include first goalscorer, last goalscorer, anytime goalscorer, a hat-trick, 1+ points, 2+ points, shots on goal and more. There are correct score bets, and wagers on halves, quarters and periods, plus a broad range of futures.

DraftKings also has an excellent live, in-game betting section, replete with live scores. It has multiple live betting markets for most games, and it also offers player pools and DFS, so its overall sporting coverage is extremely comprehensive.

It is currently live in 12 states online, representing around 25% of the population, but it aims to eventually be available nationwide. DraftKings Sportsbook – Deposits and Withdrawals

DraftKings Sportsbook customers have a number of banking options to choose from. You can use a credit card or debit card, with American Express and Discover accepted alongside Visa and Mastercard, or make a direct ACH e-check transfer or a wire transfer from your bank account. DraftKings also accepts PayPal. You can use a Play+ prepaid card or PayNearMe at 7-Eleven, Family Dollar and CVS stores. You can alternatively visit the casino cage and deposit cash at DraftKings’ casino partner in some states.

DraftKings offers withdrawals via check, ACH bank transfer, PayPal or cash at the casino cage. PayPal withdrawals will only be available if you use that method to make your deposit. That is a pretty limited range, but that is mainly a result of state regulations. Deposits are instant, apart from a wire transfer, which takes one to five days. For withdrawals, ACH and PayPal can take up to six days, but cash should be available within one hour.

DraftKings will not charge you for deposits or withdrawals. The minimum deposit is just $5 and the maximum for most new accounts is $2,000, although you can increase it by calling customer service. The minimum withdrawal is $20, and you can call customer service to discuss any large withdrawals you might wish to make. We found the DraftKings Sportsbook customer service team to be knowledgeable and helpful when we put the representatives to the test during our review process, and we were not kept waiting long.
