Houston Astros vs. Detroit Tigers

Houston is the team that every baseball fan loves to hate at the moment with a lawsuit over sign-stealing hanging over their heads. The team was fined $5 million and forced to forfeit their first, and second-round draft picks for 2020 and 2021. With their manager and general manager being given the boot, it's hard to think about how the Astros could possibly swing a good game this spring.

Even in the math of this scandal, the players seem optimistic. New manager, Dusty Baker, 70, focuses his age-old wisdom toward bettering the Astros name through quality baseball. Their matchup against the Tigers is sure to be a tense one with Houston players begging for the chance to prove themselves amongst the fans.

One hundred mph Josh James, who was left out of last year's rotation because of injury, is eager to win the starter spot this year. Will the Tigers be able to keep up with the Astros determination to be in the spotlight for better things this season? Currently, this matchup sits neck to neck in previous run-ins, but Houston comes out on top statistically speaking.

The Tigers must first face the Phillies with one man out on injury already, Micheal Fulmer. With last season's 114 losses, they are hoping that their team of top prospects like Casey Mize and Matt Manning can pull it out the bleachers for them going into the regular season.

Boston Red Sox vs. Minnesota Twins

The Red Sox and the Twins don't have a pretty history with the Sox coming out on top nearly every time they play each other. But the Twins have pulled through on occasion, will this be another victory to add to their list?

The Twins trump the Sox in every avenue when it comes to stats, so why are they falling short against their Boston rivals? Recent games have seen the Twins on somewhat of a losing streak, especially against the Yankees, who defeated them 5-1 last time out in the previous season. In comparison, the Sox registered a victory against Baltimore back in September.

With 307 home runs under their belts and no reported injuries, the Twins are in the running for a comeback this time surely!
