MLB Season Preview and Predictions

The Spring training for the teams in the MLB is about to begin, and although we’re a long way off the postseason and the World Series finale, it’s an excellent time to make some early predictions on who could win it. We’ve selected the five teams who are most likely to go the distance in the MLB this year. Read on to find out who you should be backing come October 20th. 

Yankees (+350)

The Yankees were the favorites to win the World Series last season, and this year it’s no different. They’re the biggest team in the MLB, and as a result, the expectations are always high. They almost did it last year, making it to the League Championship Series only to fall apart and disappointingly lose to the Braves. This season more is expected, and nothing short of winning the World Series will do. 

Dodgers (+400)

The Dodgers made it to the postseason last season only to fall at the first hurdle. That Divisional Series game against the Nationals could have gone either way, and it was bitterly disappointing for Dodgers fans to lose 3-2 at that stage. This year the fans and players will be expecting more from their season, and the pressure is on for them to improve on last season’s finish. 

Astros (+650)

The Astros had a year to remember last year, and we already talked about that stunning win over the Yankees to make the World Series. They were within touching distance of the biggest prize in baseball, and it was a hard defeat to take after they led 3-2 after game 5. The Astros lost the last two games, and the rest is history. This team could get there again this year, but the competition will be fierce. 

Braves (+1200)

The Cardinals ended the Braves season in 2019, and how they lost that last game of the Division Series was crushing for Atlanta. The final scoreline of 13-1 was a perfect indicator of how their World Series fell apart. Still, success usually follows failure, and if they can learn from that heartbreaking experience, they could go further this season. 

Nationals (+1600)

Could lightning strike twice for the Nationals this season after that spectacular World Series victory last year? The odds are against a repeat, but there’s no doubt that the Nationals can beat anybody when they find their groove. It’s a big ask to win the World Series back to back, and that’s why you can find valuable odds on last season’s winners. 

Prediction

Our money’s on the Yankees to win the World Series at the end of the MLB postseason. It’s not an easy call to make, but last year’s failure will have spurred this team on, and we can’t look past them going all the way. Keep an eye on
