So this week has been blockbuster for all NBA fans in the U.S.A and across the globe. The matchups have been coming thick and fast, so much so that a couple of poorly timed blinks would mean you missed something important. The good news is we have you covered with our reviews and previews, so make sure you check those out. Let’s get into our picks for the games this weekend.
LA Lakers vs. Sacramento Kings
The Lakers have cruised past both the Warriors and the Suns since that disappointing defeat at the hands of the Raptors last weekend. They are now at 9-2 for the season and sitting pretty on top of the NBA Western. Another win here would keep them in the driving seat, and would also be their third win on the bounce.
The Kings have also found the right kind of form and have registered two wins in a row in the last two games. That brought them up to 4-6 for the NBA season, and now they have two massive tests in a row. This is the first, and then they will have to go to the leaders of the NBA Eastern to try and gain another win. It’s their most significant back-to-back hurdle of the season so far, and although they have found some decent form recently, we see that running out this weekend.
Memphis Grizzlies vs. Utah Jazz
After two wins in the last two games, things are looking up for the Grizzlies in the NBA. They have found a better level of performance in recent outings, and it could be in time to make a late charge for the postseason. Memphis have the same home and away record, so being on their court will not have much of an impact if we can trust the stats. It will take something special for them to add a third win in succession here.
The Jazz are flying high in the NBA Western, and find themselves on a four-game winning streak. That started with a win in the game they played against the 76ers, after consecutive defeats. The last matchup was tight, and they rode their luck, but in the end, they managed to come away with another victory at the expense of the Nets. Another win here would put them within touching distance of the Lakers in the top spot.
Golden State Warriors vs. Boston Celtics
Well, as falls from grace go, the Warriors have nailed it with their performances this season. Five games lost on the bounce, bottom of the NBA Western, and ten defeats from 12 games is more than terrible. If you are associated with the Warriors, you already know the season is over, and you probably can’t wait for it to be done with either. The good news is that it’s an easy game here then…
The Celtics are looking like the best team in the whole of the NBA so far this term. With nine wins and one defeat, you couldn’t ask for much more as a Boston fan. Their last and only loss of the season suffered by the Celtics came in game one. The last time out, they recorded another hard-fought battle to come away with the result they wanted as they faced the Wizards.
