The Business Part Of The Season
As the NBA approaches the quarter season mark, we can see who is looking like potential Champions with the games now coming thick and fast. This week saw some serious shocks to our NBA predictions as some of the leading sides slipped to a loss right across the nation.
We will take a look at how that might impact the matchups to come and tell you where to place your bets for the games coming later this week.
The Headlines
These last couple of days has seen an excellent level of quality all over the NBA, with almost every side raising their game as the season draws into its business end. Let’s dive straight into the latest news.
Celtics Back on Track
Defeat two games ago for the Celtics against the Kings could have seen the start of a dip in form for the previously imperious Boston, but they managed to get back to winning ways with this 99-85 victory over the Suns. It wasn’t an easy battle to overcome however, with the Suns in good form themselves.
The Celtics have their second period performance to thank for their win this time out, digging deep and pulling out some absolutely sublime points throughout. They face the Clippers next, followed by the Nuggets, and our money is on them winning both. The Suns will play the Pelicans and should win that one.
Clippers Edge a Win
The Clippers season has been fantastic, and this 90-88 victory over the Thunder takes them to 9-5 for this 2019-20 NBA campaign. They are up to the fourth spot in the NBA Western and have Montrezl Harrell to thank for this success; he scored 28 points, registering twelve rebounds, and is the undoubted key to this Clippers team at the moment.
As we said, it’s the Celtics next and we are backing them to lose. Afterward, they play the Rockets, and that one is too tight to call. The Thunder have to face the Lakers, and we can see them winning that game.
Warriors Win
This was a shock to everyone interested in the NBA as we have seen the Warriors absolutely implode throughout this year. Before this game, they had twelve defeats and just two wins for the season, making this third victory was a real surprise to most NBA betting markets and something Warriors fans should cherish while they can. The Grizzlies were on the receiving end, losing this matchup 95-114, but the Warriors still remain the NBA Western’s whipping boys.
Usual service will be resumed when they face the Mavericks. As for the Grizzlies, they need a pick me up next time against the Lakers. That has almost no chance of ending successfully for Memphis.
Lakers Take the Thunder
The Lakers continue to dominate the NBA Western and sit happily in first place with a season record of 12-2. This was the beginning of a doubleheader against the Thunder, and it ended 112-107 in their favor.
That may have been a little closer than the Lakers would have intended, and we can see an upset when these teams meet again at the weekend. We are having a cheeky punt on the Thunder to win that battle.
Jazz Missed Chance
The NBA season has been decent for the Jazz so far, but this is a game they will want to put behind them fast. Utah is down to sixth in the NBA Western after back to back losses against the Grizzlies and more recently against the Timberwolves. Their next game ,against the same opposition in the Timberwolves, is absolutely critical to their season.
It’s always difficult to beat the same team twice in two games, so the odds are in favor of the Jazz winning the next time out against the Timberwolves. Can they recover from this 102-112 defeat? We know that a win for the Jazz is more than likely.
The Verdict
That was everything you need to know from the NBA games so far this week. We will be back later with our full Basketball preview and predictions roundup, so keep an eye out for that one.
The season is still young, but other factors like fatigue and injury are starting to shape the outcomes. Keep yourself in the loop with all the latest, and you may find a good value bet to supplement your viewing entertainment.
