This weekend saw us move into the business end of the NFL regular season. We watched some unbelievable games unfold over the weekend, and we’ve whittled down an even shorter list of teams who can still make it to the postseason.
For some of the teams it was already over, but that didn’t stop the passion of those players wanting to win and producing some shocks to our

to close their season out with. Let’s take a look at the top games we took in over the weekend, and look ahead to what’s coming in Game Week 12.
San Francisco 49ers 36-26 Arizona Cardinals
After the devastating defeat to NFC West rivals the Seahawks, you could have been forgiven for thinking the wheels had come off the San Francisco freight train. After this performance, you know that the 49ers are well and truly serious contenders to make it to the Super Bowl again.
Jimmy Garopollo led the way for his team with four passing touchdowns and two interceptions, rounding off a performance that was an absolute joy to behold. Next up for the 49ers is a challenging matchup as they face the Packers, but we expect them to pass the test.
The Cardinals far from disgraced themselves here, but they would have hoped the 49ers still had a hangover from their last defeat before kick-off. It wasn’t to be, and now Arizona have a mountain to climb with a season record of 3-7-1, leaving their NFL prospects in tatters.
You couldn’t question the heart in this performance, but it fell short of taking a historic victory from better opposition. Now they need to pick themselves up for a game against the Rams, which we can’t see them winning.
Philadelphia Eagles 10-17 New England Patriots
This was a game that the Eagles were looking to get something out of despite the strength of the opposition. It was an enthralling tactical battle and ended with a low final score, but Philadelphia came up short and missed a chance to make ground on the Cowboys in the NFC East.
The first period could not have been better for them, and it looked like they may well have upset

everywhere and get the result they badly needed. Unfortunately, the Eagles couldn’t hold on, and now they must take something when they face the Seahawks.
For the Patriots, it was another win to add to their collection in this season’s NFL. although they started slowly, they came back to get the result and show off exactly what makes them a winning side. They have the joint-best record in the NFL, matched by the 49ers, and making it to the postseason is almost a foregone conclusion.
Tom Brady didn’t have the best of games, and his replacement Julian Edelman did the business for New England in the end. Next up for the Patriots is another massive test against the Cowboys. We are backing an upset and predict they will lose that one.
Baltimore Ravens 41-7 Houston Texans
What a season it has been so far for the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL. Another week, another dominant performance. The Ravens offense and defense are one of the strongest we have seen this term and their momentum shows no sign of slowing down. This victory was their sixth on the bounce, and they look like a side that is hungry for postseason glory.
You wouldn’t bet against them going all the way to the Super Bowl. Only the 49ers and the Patriots have had a better season when you look at their records. Their next test will be a game where they face the Rams. It will be a tight game, but we are backing them to win again.
It’s back to the drawing board for the Texans after this demolition. They came into this one on the back of two massive successes, one of those coming against the high flying Raiders, but this was a challenge they couldn’t overcome.
It was pretty much game over by half time, and they need to bounce back in the next game. The Texans still have a sporting chance of making the postseason, but they can’t afford to slip up again before the regular season is finished. They will face the Colts next, and we are backing Houston for a comeback victory.
Looking Ahead
Now we have five games to go in the NFL regular season; you can see the teams are feeling the weight of expectation. We can see who is already there, and looking back at who could join them, but there is still time for the chasing pack to make a late charge or drop off.
