Kansas City Chiefs Host Detroit Lions in Week 1
The Detroit Lions will face a stern test of their mettle when they take on the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 1.
The Chiefs are the reigning Super Bowl champions, and they are the favorites to defend their crown next season.
However, the Lions have also been touted as potential Super Bowl contenders after embarking on an upward curve over the past year.
Detroit was unlucky to miss out on the playoffs last season after finishing the regular season with a 9-8 record.
The Lions signed CB Cam Sutton, CB Emmanuel Moseley, RB David Montgomery, G Graham Glasgow and S C.J. Gardner-Johnson to bolster their ranks.
They also re-signed several key players from last year, and they are now fourth in the betting for the NFC title, behind only the Eagles, 49ers and Cowboys in the betting, so they could give the Chiefs a tough game in Week 1.
Another mouth-watering Week 1 clash sees Aaron Rodgers make his debut for the New York Jets against division rival Buffalo Bills, led by Josh Allen.
The New York Giants will take on the Dallas Cowboys in the Sunday Night Football game.
Looking further ahead, the Thanksgiving Day triple-header features three exciting divisional matchups: Green Bay Packers @ Detroit Lions, Washington Commanders @ Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers @ Seattle Seahawks.
The Christmas Day triple header includes Las Vegas Raiders @ Kansas City Chiefs, New York Giants @ Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens @ San Francisco 49ers.
