NFL Game Week 12 Preview: Predictions & Betting Picks
Game Week 11 in the NFL did not disappoint as every game had its talking points and a surprise or two. Looking ahead to Week 12, we can see more of the same on the horizon. With five games remaining in the NFL regular season, every victory counts more than ever.
A slip up now could cost a team their place in the postseason, so the pressure is building for everyone still in with a shot. We have chosen the top picks from the weekend’s action for you to make the most of.
San Francisco 49ers vs Green Bay Packers
Last week saw the 49ers bounce back with a win after losing their first game of the season against the Seahawks two weeks ago. This is another massive test for their Super Bowl credentials as they face a team much more in need of a win than they are. The season record shows how fantastic the 49ers have been since it started. An NFL record of 9-1 at this stage can only be matched by the Patriots, and we would expect the 49ers to feature in the postseason at this stage.
The Packers have had a decent NFL season so far, if not world-beating. If you take a peek at their record, you will see it shows 8-2, which is one of the strongest in the NFL this year. They are on a par with the Ravens and will be looking at this game with the hope of taking another victory. It’s not going to be straightforward, and it’s a huge mountain to climb, we are predicting they will fall short.
New York Jets vs Oakland Raiders
The last two games have seen the Jets add two victories to what was a pathetic season total of 1-7. Now sitting at 3-7, they come into this one looking to improve that record further, although the chances of a postseason are all but over for New York. One of the two previous wins came against the Redskins, who have only managed a single win so far in the NFL. This game will be a whole different animal for the Jets, as the Raiders have been much more solid recently.
The Raiders are looking to make the playoffs, and they have won every one of their last three games this NFL season. They meet the Jets at a time they are playing some good football, but the Raiders should have more than enough to get their seventh win of the campaign. Granted, that last victory was less than impressive. We were expecting something more dominant against the Bengals, but a win is a win.
Philadelphia Eagles vs Seattle Seahawks
Now this game has a lot riding on it as the two teams in second place in their Divisions look to finish the NFL season well. The Eagles lost the last time they played in a game they needed to win as they faced the Patriots. It was a trick play that undid their hard work in that matchup, and this is another massive test. Can they overcome the challenge from the second-placed team in the most competitive NFL contest?
The Seahawks are the only team to beat the 49ers this season, and they have the wind in their sails as we come to the crunch point in the season. It would be a brave bet to say the Seahawks won’t make the postseason, and it would be a shame not to have them there. On a good day, they can take anybody, and we want to see them progress. Let’s see if they have what it takes.
New England Patriots vs Dallas Cowboys
The Patriots passed another test against the Eagles last time out, and this time they have one in the form of the Cowboys. They have only lost once this season, so the odds are in their favor. Although they won the last NFL game they played, the performance wasn’t the best we have seen. Could it be that they are running out of steam at the worst possible time?
The Cowboys have been quietly excellent so far in the NFL regular season, and another win here would put the playoffs within touching distance. That would be quite some achievement for this side, and we would like to see what they can do if they make it. Last time out, they recorded another win over the Lions, and defeat for the Eagles further strengthened their position in the NFL.
The NFL Game Week 12 Verdict
That’s all for the most significant games coming to you this weekend in the NFL. Game week 12 could be the end of the road for some of the teams if they can’t get the result they need. Now’s the time that every performance matters, and as fatigue comes into play, we could see a shock or two.
Remember to keep an eye on the Moneyline as the weekend approaches, and we will be back for more updates later this week.
