What a week that was all over the NFL. We had a ‘cat on the field’ delay at the Giants game, and other surprises happening up and down the country. So which games had the most significant impact on the standings? We will review the games with the best action for you right here. So let’s get to those matchups and give you a look at what’s to come this weekend. As always, we’ve got you covered.

Arizona Cardinals 25-28 San Francisco 49ers

The Cardinals made themselves look fantastic despite falling to a defeat in this one. Pre-game, everyone was focused on the 49ers and their unbeaten run, but Arizona almost took the win here. It was too close to call at certain points in the game. They face the Buccaneers in the NFL’s Game Week 10, and we predict a win for the Cardinals next time out.

The unbeaten run continues, and the victory for the 49ers keeps them top of the most competitive division in the NFL. Four touchdowns from Jimmy Garrapollo made all the difference here as they marched on to their eighth consecutive win of the season. They play the Seahawks next, and we are backing them to lose that one. This unbelievable run has to end at some point, doesn’t it?

Miami Dolphins 26-18 New York Jets

Everybody expected the Dolphins to lose this one and they shocked everybody in the NFL universe by battling to a deserved win. It was the first victory this season, and you could see the relief across the squad as Miami finally gave their fans something to cheer about. It meant they matched the Jet’s record and are now 1-7 for the NFL season. Next up, they face the Colts, but we are backing them to lose that matchup.

The Jets have had a season much like their opponents here. Before the game, they were 1-6, and now they have lost seven of eight. Adam Gase needs to find some form and make changes if he hopes to take anything at all from this season. It is fast becoming a wash-out and hopes of beating the Giants next game are slim, hence we are not backing them to do so.

Oakland Raiders 31-24 Detroit Lions

Plenty of entertainment on offer in this game as the Raiders made their record all square at 4-4 for the season. Derek Carr put in two outstanding passing touchdowns and was backed up as teammate Joshua Jacobs scored two on the rushing side. The Raiders are now up to second in the NFL AFC West, and they should have enough to beat the Bengals next time out.

The Lions are not looking so hot in the NFC North Division, down in third with only three  wins, four losses, and a tie. We saw patches of the quality they have available, but as so often this season, it wasn’t enough for a positive result. They will face the Cowboys in Game Week 10, and that should be an opportunity for a victory. We couldn’t call that game either way.

Seattle Seahawks 40-34 Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Seahawks kept up the pressure on the 49ers in the NFL NFC West, making the next game between the two sides even more critical. Russel Wilson kept his hat in the ring for the end of season MVP award, with five excellent touchdowns. Wilson’s performance in the next game could decide which way it goes. We are backing the Seahawks to end San Francisco’s run next time they take to the field.

The Buccaneers will be pleased with the performance they put in, if not the result. They forced better opposition into extra time and did not look out of place at any point in the game. They will come up against Saints at the weekend, and we predict they will fall short despite the positives here. The Saints are 7-1 for the season, so it’s a big ask for Tampa Bay.
