The Los Angeles Rams beat the Cincinnati Bengals to win Super Bowl LVI, 23-20 in SoFi Stadium. Now that the big game has come and gone, the attention shifts to the offseason and preparation for next season.
Super Bowl LVII
Super Bowl LVII will be taking place on February 12 2023, the second Sunday of February. The game will be played at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. This will be the third time that State Farm Stadium will host the Super Bowl, the last time being in 2015.
This is the first Super Bowl location in which the league did not use a bidding process to host the game. The old process would whittle down cities to a list of finalists before the league awarded the Super Bowl to one city. Instead one city will be the sole presenter, pitching in order to secure a “yes” vote from a majority of the 31 other NFL team owners.
Futures Odds - Super Bowl LVII Winner
The Rams had their eye on Super Bowl LVI ever since trading for Matthew Stafford in March last year and could have been backed at +1300 before the season opened. The Rams had the sixth highest odds to win the Super Bowl last offseason, so let's see what the early market looks like.
After their titanic matchup in the AFC divisional matchup, the Chiefs (+700) and the Bills (+750) are the initial betting favorites to win Super Bowl LVII. The Rams (+1000) and the Bengals (+1400) are third and fourth in the betting market, as the Rams are looking to repeat as winners and the Bengals aim to prove that lightning can strike twice.
If you think that a third home team in as many years can host and win a Super Bowl - following the Buccaneers in 2021 and the Rams in 2022 - the Arizona Cardinals can be backed at +2500.

What are the early value picks?
These are all very early thoughts and early value picks! Things will certainly change after the NFL draft and trade season opens up in March.
San Francisco 49ers +1400
After getting close to knocking out the eventual champions in the NFC Championship game, the 49ers are primed to make another run at the Lombardi. After seeing his former colleague and buddy Sean McVay win a ring, it’s time for Kyle Shanahan to follow. Trey Lance will be the quarterback in San Francisco, as the 49ers are expected to trade Jimmy Garoppolo following a disappointing end to the campaign. +1400 is good early value for a team with a strong identity and a point to prove.
Denver Broncos +2200
This is in part an Aaron Rodgers play. The team is talented enough to make noise in 2022: with a talented offensive line, a solid running back in Javonte William and a potential standout tight end in Noah Fant this is a team built for the future. This is a team that needs a quarterback to elevate them from the basement in their division. We don’t know if Rodgers will leave Green Bay but the Broncos have positioned themselves as frontrunners for his signing should he choose to move on. This ticket would look pretty great if Rodgers decides to join the Broncos.
Miami Dolphins +4000
I like the Dolphins, as long as the ramifications of former head coach Brian Flores' lawsuit does not hang over the Miami team all offseason. New head coach Mike McDaniel comes from the Shanahan & McVay school of analytics and if the right additions can be made to the offensive line and run support this offseason, the Dolphins are potential value at +4000.
Las Vegas Raiders +5000
Above I gave the reasoning behind the Broncos at +2200, the consequences of a stacked AFC West is that the Raiders are bottom of the group (in the betting markets) yet made the playoffs last season on the back of some tough defense and explosive offense. Having Mahomes and Justin Herbert in your division does appear daunting but until the Chargers or Broncos add pieces to improve and toughen up, the Raiders could have an inside track to a playoff spot. Maturity should make Josh McDaniels a better head coach second time around, and if they get a true number 1 wide receiver? Watch out.
New York Giants +10000
The Giants are a longshot for a reason, but in a world where the Cincinnati Bengals can make the Super Bowl after having one of the worst records in the league the year previous, there could be a little bit of value there. They still have a good quarterback in Daniel Jones and dynamic playmakers in Kadarius Toney, Saquon Barkley and Kenny Golladay. They have hired a new head coach in Brian Daboll who looks ideally suited for the challenge. The NFL Draft will be critical, as the Giants are over the salary cap currently but have a pair of top-10 picks and nine total selections to rebuild a team in desperate need of a refresh.
