Topping the NHL roundup news is the hard-fought 2-1 triumph of the New York Rangers over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.
As they continued their impressive form, they also secured their 10th consecutive victory, the third such streak in the history of the franchise. The last time the Rangers achieved such a streak was during the 1972-73 season.
Alexis Lafreniere and Matt Rempe each netted one goal for the Rangers while Igor Shesterkin made 39 saves, including a couple of nifty ones in the final two minutes of the game, to secure yet another victory.
The Flyers' solitary goal in this competitive encounter came from Tyson Foerster.

Florida Panthers vs Washington Capitals (OT). Gustav Forsling scored the winning goal, 3-2, for the Panthers with 1:19 left in overtime. This is his first overtime goal since the 2021-2022 season.
Two penalties were drawn by Tom Wilson that proved key, and he also found the back of the net for Washington; Sonny Milano added another goal to their total in the match.
Ottawa Senators vs Vegas Golden Knights (SO). Beating the Stanley Cup champion Vegas Golden Knights on the ice at home showed a lot of team spirit. The team did not fold after going down two goals and believed they could come back. The Senators' key players showed up and there was excellent goaltending, esp. in the shootout that ensued.
Tim Stutzle scored the winning goal against Logan Thompson, leading them to a 4-3 victory against Vegas.
Los Angeles Kings vs Anaheim Ducks (SO). In their second win of seven shootouts this season, the Kings defeated the Ducks 3-2.
Adrian Kempe, selected in the first round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Kings, is expected to lead the Kings in goals scored. He joins Luc Robitaille as a Kings player to score 40 goals in a season.
At 68 points, this win tied the Kings with the Oilers for third place in the Pacific Division. They will play against each other in Edmonton, on Monday night.
We haven't been great at shootouts all year, so that was big for confidence...maybe wasn't our best performance overall, but it was a big win. And especially to get it in OT slash shootout was good for the confidence moving forward in that situation.
