Another week has passed in the NHL season, and it raised far too many topics to discuss here. Instead, we will bring you the latest analysis of the upcoming NHL games this week. We have our NHL predictions and news updates ready, and we know you will find something to place your next wager on. There is a long way to go and every week we see teams putting everything on the line.

Tampa Bay Lightning vs New York Rangers

The Lightning have dropped down the NHL Atlantic, but they have games in hand that could see them back up the table. Their last two games were both decisive wins, and they could get themselves back into the mix with another victory in this one. If they win their next three outings, they will be right behind the Bruins at the top of the division, and you know they will be more than up for this battle.

The Rangers are similarly placed, and although they have fewer games in hand having already played seventeen, a win would put them back in with a postseason shot. The last appearance saw them take a victory off one of the strongest sides in the NHL as the Penguins succumbed to an overtime defeat. Can they construct a similar result in this game? We don’t think so.

Our prediction

Lightning 3-1 Rangers

Edmonton Oilers vs Colorado Avalanche

The Oilers had been cruising in the NHL this season. That last game, though, has cost them both progress and confidence. Nobody could have predicted the 6-3 defeat when they faced the Sharks, in a game they should have won. It means they have the Coyotes hot on their tails in the NHL Pacific and one more defeat here could see them lose that top spot.

The Avalanche would steal the top spot in the NHL Central with a win against Edmonton in this one. Coming into the game on the back of a three-game winning streak is precisely where they would want to be. This game is a battle between two of the most likely Stanley Cup winners, and all eyes will be on it to see what the outcome is.

Our prediction

Oilers 2-1 Avalanche

Vancouver Canucks vs Dallas Stars

The Canucks bounced straight back against the Predators after losing a game they will want  to forget against the lowly Devils. They have to maintain a better focus to get the job done and retain their third place in the standings. That 5-3 win against the Predators was a hard-fought performance, and that will give the fans hope they won’t slip up again here.

The Stars put in a whirlwind performance when they played the Avalanche beating them 4-1. Their NHL season is all but over after such a bad start, but if they could cause another upset in this one, they may still have an outside chance. The problem for them is that the Canucks have been consistently fantastic other than one minor slip. Can the Stars find that level once more and cost us all some money?

Our prediction

Canucks 5-2 Stars

Face-off
