The Main Event – UFC Fight Night 167: Corey Anderson vs Jan Blachowicz

The UFC returns to New Mexico as the Octagon will be set up at the Santa Ana Star Center for UFC Fight Night 167: Anderson vs Blachowicz 2 is the blockbuster showdown on February 15th and it has the makings of another box office earth-shaker, so make sure you catch all the MMA predictions here at Bet Today USA.

Main Event: Corey Anderson (-225) Vs Jan Blachowicz (+175)

Corey Anderson will lay his four-fight winning streak on the line against Jan Blachowicz in Mexico’s capital. Blachowicz, on the other hand, is eyeing up his third win but will have to get past an Anderson that is in fine form after dispatching Johnny Walker at the end of last year. Corey ‘Overtime’ Anderson scored a first-round knockout against Johnny Walker, stopping the ‘Hype Train’ collecting his first knockout win since 2016 and the third of his career.

Blachowicz, who is also riding a wave of momentum has won his six of his last seven fights, falling short only to former title challenger Thiago Santos. This bout features a clash of styles, with Anderson showcasing wrestling as his preferred style and a flurry of strikes that has left previous opponents face-first on the canvas. Meanwhile, the Polish brawler favours exchanging fists on his feet and has only landed one takedown over his last four fights. These two are familiar foes, which met at UFC 191 back in 2015, when Anderson was able to successfully implement his game plan, taking the ‘Prince of Cieszyn’ to the canvas four times eventually winning via a unanimous decision.

Our prediction

Corey Anderson (-225) via Decision

Diego Sanchez (+135) Vs Michel Pereira (-165)

Michel Pereira is new to the lights of the Octagon, only making two appearances in 2019 losing one of them. ‘Demolidor’ is set to lock horns with journeyman Diego ‘The Nightmare’ Sanchez on his third walkout to the Octagon in the hope of getting another win on his record.

Sanchez, on the other hand, is making his 31st UFC appearance and is coming off the back of a defeat to Michael Chiesa last July. Pereira is an unpredictable and wild fighter, who exhibits big explosive moments which entertains the masses but has a low probability of landing.

Pereira throws erratic flying knees and propels himself off the cage like a flying squirrel gliding from tree to tree. However, even though the spectacle is enjoyable to watch it burns the Brazilian’s energy and he seems to fade out through rounds rapidly. This unorthodox technique is a red flag against Sanchez, who relies on his wrestling ability and gas tank to see the fight to the end.

Our prediction

Sanchez to win (+135) via Decision

Montana De La Rosa (-185) VS Mara Romero Borella (+150)

Montana De La Rosa had her five-fight winning streak thwarted by Andrea Lee last June when she fell by unanimous decision. Also coming off a defeat is Mara 'Maravilla' Romero Borella, who suffered a third-round TKO to Lauren Murphy last August. Bet Today USA's MMA predictions lean heavily towards De La Rosa edging this fight because of her strong wrestling background and strengths when on the canvas. The Texas native is relentless in looking for a submission and eight of her ten wins have ended on her strong suit. Rosa's striking is basic, pawing away at the jab and always looking to utilise her strong right hand. Meanwhile, Borella's striking is a superlative piece of skill, relying on strikes and leg kicks to slow down her opponents' movements but rarely lands the devasting strikes she wants.

Our prediction

De La Rosa to win via submission
