This past Sunday, during a race meet with his club Rzeszow, Woffinden was involved in a devastating crash that left him with multiple fractures and chest injuries. Rushed from the track in Poland, Tai had to be airlifted to a hospital where he underwent surgery and was placed into a medically induced coma. “The speedway world will be hoping for a speedy recovery,” expressed Rob Godfrey, echoing the sentiments of many in the racing community.

Woffinden's journey began back in 2006 with the Scunthorpe Scorpions, and he later raced for the Wolverhampton Wolves. Riding has been not just his career but his lifelong passion. His tenacity and skill led him to be crowned world champion in 2013, 2015, and 2018, a testament to his talent on the track.
More recently, Tai was on the cusp of another racing renewal. After a broken elbow in June ended his 2024 season early, he was poised for a vibrant comeback. "This was going to be a rebuilding year to get back to the world championships in 2026 so it's bitterly disappointing," Godfrey noted, reflecting on Tai's intentions before this unfortunate incident.
