MLS 2020 Picks: 3 Games To Watch Out For - Matchday 3

The Action Continues

We're two games deep into the 2020 MLS season and there's no signs of the drama slowing down any time soon. 2019 Supporters Shield champs LA

(+333)

dropped their first points of the season against Philadelphia

(+3300)

, NYCFC

(+1000)

made it two losses from two and Galaxy

(+2000)

completed the set of the division's top sides dropping points with their home loss to the Whitecaps

(+10000)

.

With several sides now nervously looking over the fixture list in the hunt for some points, the action promises to be ramped up to another level in this week's MLS matchday. Here are our latest MLS picks for matchday 3 in the league.

Inter Miami Vs. LA Galaxy - Beckham To Snatch Points Off His Old Side?

David Beckham's transfer to the Galaxy back in 2007 revolutionised the league and put North American football well and truly on the map. He faces off against his former team for the first time with his expansion side Inter Miami

(+10000)

this weekend, now hoping to steal some points away from LA rather than putting them on the board. Miami have been edged out twice in their opening two games but continue to impress with their grit and character.

Big things were expected of Galaxy this season after the marquee signing of Mexico legend Chicharito, however neither he nor LA have really hit the ground running yet. Galaxy come into this weekend with a loss and a tie to their name and should really be seeing this matchday as a springboard for their season.

Our prediction

LA Galaxy should really be getting off the mark here, and we're backing them to take a road win without too much fuss

New England Looking For First Win

Bruce Arena's Revs

(+2500)

side were predicted to be a possible dark horse for this year's MLS, however the New England team are yet to find a win from their two outings so far this campaign. Whilst the performances haven't been too bad on the whole, it's clear that the Revs are still struggling to rack up the shutouts this year. Designated player Adam Buksa did find the net for the first time in New England's last match however and could be a good pick for spearheading Arena's team to a win this weekend.

They face off against Portland

(+2500)

this weekend who got off the mark with a win against expansion side Nashville

(+20000)

in matchday 2. Whilst it was a win that netted them their first points of the season, it was the second week in succession that the Timbers had been outplayed in terms of attempts on target, something they will need to iron out for their visit to the Gillette Stadium.

Our prediction

This could be a seriously close game, however we'll give the edge to the Revs. Home win for Arena's side.

Minnesota To Keep Flying?

Our MLS Predictions had Adrian Heath's side

(+1600)

to have a much improved campaign this year, however Minnesota's rise to the top of the MLS table has been nothing short of breathtaking. The Loons have hit 8 goals in their first two road games, including 5 with four separate scorers on the road last weekend against San Jose

(+3300)

. They are looking imperious so far this season and could be on for another strong week here.

They do come up against one of the toughest sides in the division at the moment though. The Red Bulls

(+2000)

were only denied a perfect start to their 2020 MLS season by a last gasp equaliser by Real Salt Lake

(+1600)

and should come into this matchup more than fancying their chances.

Our prediction

Two of the form teams at the moment, we think this matchup might just see the two teams cancel eachother out. We'll go for a tie.
