MLS Conference Finals: LAFC vs. Seattle Sounders | Betting Preview

Can Seattle Stun The Odds Against Heavy Favourites LAFC?

Bob Bradley and his LA side’s quest to become the leading light of MLS history sees them come up against Seattle Sounders on October 29th at the Banc of California Stadium. The California side have been immense all season and will surely be looking to add a Conference Final victory to their growing list of achievements this year. Quite fittingly, they face off against the next best side in the Conference during the regular season in this year’s final, Seattle Sounders.

The 2018 season saw an impressive start to life for veteran Bob Bradley and his LA outfit, laying down a warning to the league as his side climbed to fifth in the table before dropping out 2-3 to Salt Lake in the Play Offs. This season however has left them looking virtually untouchable at times, racking up

21 wins

across the regular season, losing just

4 times

and scoring a record

85 goals

in their 34 matches. They were favourites in our soccer betting markets for the MLS Cup before kick off at

+150

and got their Play Offs started in great style with a 5-3 win over ‘El Trafico’ rivals LA Galaxy.

Whilst the two LA sides certainly bring a wealth of glamour to the Western Conference, it would be unfair to look over just how effective Seattle Sounders have, once again, been this year as they finished second in the Western Conference. Despite being one of the most experienced of sides to play in the division, having made at least a fourth place finish every year since 2009, they entered this year’s Play Offs as outsiders at

+1500

in our odds. A frantic, last-gasp 4-3 win over Dallas was followed by a far more comfortable 2-0 win over Salt Lake which has seen their odds of winning the MLS cup slashed down to

+350

.

Sounders will go into this game knowing that silencing Carlos Vela is going to be the key to their success. The Mexican forward has been immense this year, netting 38 goals in all competitions so far. In Jordan Morris however, they may have a seriously talented goalscorer to match the Mexican, with the 25 year old forward netting a hattrick in the Play Off win against Salt Lake and almost certainly looking like the man who could spoil the LAFC party.
