MLS Is Back Tournament Betting | Betting Preview | July 28
The shocks and spills of the MLS is Back tournament have continued on with the likes of Toronto and Thierry Henry's Montreal bowing out in the latest round of fixtures from Orlando. This competition is proving to be a real tough one for the bookies to call.  Here's our latest round up of MLS betting picks from the tournament's upcoming fixtures.

Columbus Crew vs. Minnesota United - July 28, 8PM EDT

MLS sweethearts Columbus Crew (+2100) were the only side to have a 100% win rate over the course of the group stage, topping Group E containing Atlanta, New York Red Bulls and FC Cincinnati (+6600). Their 4-0 win over Cincy was the biggest win of the entire group stage, their seven goals scored was the second-best of any side in Orlando and they were the only team to not concede a single goal from their three games. It has been a remarkable start for Caleb Porter's side.

Minnesota's (+2000) 2-0-0 start to the 2020 regular season had plenty of bookies tipping Adrian Heath's side to be one of the tournament's dark horses in their MLS betting odds, and they've not stumbled on their journey so far. Another team to go unbeaten during the groups, the Loons tied against Colorado and Real Salt Lake (+2800) but did get the win against Sporting Kansas City (+2100) courtesy of two goals past the 90th.

Our prediction

It's really hard looking past the Crew's impressive form here. Expect a close one, but we think Columbus will take the win.

Portland Timbers vs. FC Cincinnati - July 28, 10:30PM EDT

Usually nestled amongst the favorites in our MLS predictions, the Timbers (+2300) have once again been solid throughout their campaign. Two wins, one tie and three goals in three games from Jeremy Ebobisse was enough to see them top a group contain both LA teams and Houston. Given the high-profile casualties the tournament has already thrown up, Portland should really be eyeing up their chances of winning the whole tournament.

From out of nowhere, Jaap Stam's Cincinnati (+6600) delivered one of the most shocking results in our soccer betting markets when they beat New York Red Bulls in Group E. The second win of the campaign following a 1-0 win over Atlanta, it suddenly launched probably the worst team in Major League soccer into the tournament's knockout stage. With all the offield controversies, lack of wins during 2020 regular season, wooden spoon in 2019, new manager, injuries to the likes of Jurgen Locadia and the 4-0 opening round loss to the Crew, it's a heck of an achievement that Cincy are even playing here.

Our prediction

Big respect to Cincinnati for getting here, but it would be a huge upset to see the Timbers lose this.
